About

My name is Jacob van Loon. I am 25 years old and freelance from Chicago, IL. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BFA in illustration. Before my time at Northern, I spent two years studying photography and fine arts at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, IL, and a year at Waukesha County Technical College for graphic design. I seek inspiration more recently from modern fashion, architecture, and travel.
-
I employ Illustration with a strong Design sensibility, focusing on the synthesis of digital and traditional media to complete a visual idea.

My painting combines unrelated concepts under the umbrella of a central point- the exploitation of miniscule observations. Aesthetic components influential to my paintings range from the Russian Constructivism methodology, to historical events that shaped commerce in the Midwestern United States.

I share my process and method on JVLendnote.com.
