Mechanicsville, Madison & Kohlhase, End of the Year
After finishing my undergraduate in May, I was exposed to a lot of great projects, and unique opportunities. I sincerely thank those who have encouraged and supported my work this past year. I hope 2012 builds off the excitement 2011 was stirring.
’11 had a strong finish, with my debut in Melrose, L.A. I was invited to participate in a group exhibition at Gallery 1988, curated by long-time correspondent Daniel Danger. The excellent group of contributors created pieces centered around the theme (which also doubled as the exhibition title) Devil Town, a song by Daniel Johnston. My piece, titled Mechanicsville was created for the exhibit, and a sister piece to Mechanicsville titled Madison & Kohlhase was just completed for a separate commission. Both pieces are now posted in the Arbor gallery, under Images. Click any of the images for an enlarged view.
I have projects due for Anobium Lit, Chicago friends The Canoes, and Retrograde Tapes. Luke Shumard and I might have some things to show you early next year. I am available for freelance design and illustration work into 2012, and will be pursuing more exhibition opportunities. I plan to restock my webstore, and create a mailing list in the next few months.
Your critcism and feedback are what I gain the most insight from. I’d love to hear from you
My youtube channel is now dedicated to painting process videos. You can see my newest release, which is a compilation of footage shot while working on Madison & Kohlhase.
